kaira's scrapbook

Scrapbooking

Two years back I wanted a handmade gift for my daughter's birthday....had already sent her photoframes..flower sticks….then while watching some videos on you tube decided to make a scrap book for her.

She has a blog on cooking..so decided on a recipe scrap book..this was my very first one!!the book turned out awsum..but unfortunately the pics r not very good..:((

Ever since I got obsessed with this art. Here I  am sharing with u a book that I made for my grand daughter’s birthday. Her craze of Ariel…the mermaid made me choose this theme.

I used mount board as the base of pages so it remains sturdy n does not tear downloaded ariel images n tried to stick to blues n greens..though have used pinks too as this is her favourite colour.

The cover page…….Ariel holding the big conch shell..i put a small diamond on her finger!!some embossed waves..shimmer paper n glitter bubbles  lots of ribbons n some charms..not missing the fimo beads!!
stickers have been used for 'KAIRA'
Ariel with sisters…..all wishing a ‘Happy Birthday’!!
A big hug from mumma.....
Playtime………...
These r cutouts from a cuttlebug…thanks to a dear friend who got this amazing gift all the way from US!!...
the complete layout.................
This flips open…..
Even Ariel wants the hoolahoop!!
Swimming with Ariel….
For waves I have used fiskars embossing plates…
Ariel with her friends….Flounder,Sebastian being her favourite….
My sweet little pea…..here again this small page flips open.
these are fimo clay beads.simly loved them but..they gave me a real tough time....fimo is a real hard clay to work with!!
The conch is a shell stencil with fevicryl glitters.

The embossing  has been done with cuttlebug embossers…

some charms......n another conch.....shell
the back
little silver stickers as photo clips...
n lots n lots of wishes.....
yesterday...today n everyday in Kaira's life....

Crepe Paper Roses

Crepe Paper Roses

You can make roses with just about anything…paper, ribbon ,fabric ,wool, sponge….the options r so many...
Here r some crepe paper roses which r very simple ,yet pretty.

Start with a strip of crepe paper. The length and the width is totally your choice. For bigger flowers use a broad  and long strip but for something small and dainty you will need a thin and small strip.

Start by rolling a tight centre, roll it a couple of times.

Now just keep twisting and turning the strip till u reach the end .
Glue the ends.

For a shimmery look use glitter,I have used the natural glitter this blends with any colour..
Since we don’t get pastel coloured crepe paper I have dyed the paper with diluted waterproof inks.
You must wait for the paper to dry as it is very fragile. If u r in a rush use your hair dryer,it will dry in a jiffy.
