Strawberry Orange Rain

The market is still flooded with the two most beautiful,health fruits.
Oranges,juicy n sweet with a tangy taste..with lovely colour n texture…n Strawberries with their gorgeous red colour n tiny yellow seeds piercing…..sweet n juicy….the sweet n tangy taste both blending together…..give us a delicious drink…topped with soda water…..the effect is absolutely tantalizing……that of a drizzling rain!.....hence the name Strawberry Orange Rain….
A tinge of lemon has been added to give that tarty flavour n retain the rich colours.
Antioxidant and loaded with vitamin c..the fizzy fruity drink is irresistible.

Oranges ……….1/2 cup
Lemon juice……I tb sp
Sugar syrup……4-6 tb sp
Soda water
Mint for garnishing

Crush the strawberries.
Remove pulp from oranges n roughly crush it.
Add lemon juice n sugar syrup.
Put lots of crushed ice in u r glass n add this concentrate.
Fill up with soda.

Garnish with mint.

Chocolate Hearts

Segment 2

Chocolate almond candy
Strawberry cream hearts
Strawberry melon frapp’e

Now that we r done with packing n tagging the next on the mind is some kind of chocolate……how abt something crunchier??? candy??.........chocolate almond candy....
On my first visit to Japan I was hooked on to cookery shows on telly.language was a big cud’nt get the exact proportions…but never mind  the trials n errors gave me the recipes….the chocolate almond candy is a variation of one such recipe.

¾ cup sugar
¾ cup cooking chocolate
¼ cup finely chopped almonds

Melt the sugar.

Break the chocolate to smaller pieces n add to the sugar.
Let it melt.

Add almonds.

Pour into moulds.

De mould…..n wrap them up.
 U cud use the nuts of u r choice but they shud b crushed or finely chopped.

Strawberry melon frappé....

Simply blend the fruits with some lime n crushed ice.

Want to make it a little fizzy..add a bit of ENO!!
Garnish with lemon or a melon ball..n ya don’t forget to deseed the melon.
N now its our dessert…..

Strawberry cream hearts

Cut the bread with a heart shaped cookie cutter
Bake till golden brown

Strawberry syrup….
1 cup sugar
½ cup water
2 cups strawberries

Crush the strawberries.
Cook with sugar n water(one thread consistency).
Dip the bread in this syrup.
Cover the hearts with sweetened whipped cream.
Garnish with hearts cut out frm strawberries.

(the strawberry syrup can also b made frm ready strawberry crush..dilute it n cook for a few secs).

All put together for u r valentine……

Hearts for your Sweet Heart

With valentine’s Day just around the corner u r probably thinking how to make an impression on that SPECIAL person in u r life.It’s u r chance to express u r feelings in u r creative fashion.personalize this valentine not only with chocolates n desserts but with packing the gift n making u r own tags!

I have used Hearts,the most beautiful symbol of love ,using red colour as the theme base.

Segment 1


Wrap the box in red handmade paper using contrasting corrugated paper to highlight.
To make the ribbon simply tear the paper n wrap it around a pencil,this will give it a swirl.

Glue smaller hearts on a satay stick n glue on one side of the gift.

A big punched heart pierced with an arrow(made frm satay stick) n a dainty red heart r glued to make a tag.
Cut small hearts in gold …stick them randomly on the red paper.


Heart shaped punches in different sizes make beautiful tags.peirced with pins…dressed with beads n shimmer net these tags have been made from old wedding just don’t throw any kind of cards they can b recycled… many ways, tags is just one of the options!

Nutty Fig Roll

As soon as u finish a meal….everyone has the same question to ask"meethe me kya hai?”(wat’s for dessert?) of course there is a wide variety to choose from to satisfy u r taste buds BUT……yes but wat about the guilt of calories ?.....simply cant afford to indulge into sweets made with ghee n sugar!!
So here I have a healthy,sugarfree Indian sweet which is super simple n super delicious.Figs r low in fats n cholesterol so go ahead n enjoy the dessertJ

  • 250 gms dried figs
  • 100 gms almonds
  • 50 gms cashews
  • 50 gms pistachios
  • 1/2 tsp ghee

    1. Wash the figs and microwave with 3-4 tsp water for 4 minutes.
    2. Grind them in a mixer.
    3. In nonstick pan put 1/2 tsp ghee, add the fig paste.
    4. Roast for 2-3 minutes, remove n cool.
    5. Add nuts to this n knead like a dough.
    6. Make a roll, wrap in a cling film.
    7. Refrigerate for 1/2 hour.
    8. Cut into slices.
You can use dates instead of figs.
Dates can be grinded directly, no need to microwave them.
Cardamom is optional.

  • u can pack these sweets individually to retain freshness else store them in a airtight container.
